The FAB FOUR -
THE AUSTRALIAN BEATLES SHOW!
Nowadays it is an all too familiar thing to see more and more 'Tribute Bands' appearing on the scene with depressingly similar repertoires, playing dance music in small pubs and clubs. It seems that anyone with a few bad wigs and some cheesy costumes are out there in force churning out the music of the Beatles, Abba, Neil Diamond, Elvis, the Bee Gees, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones - and the list goes on. On a more professional scale are first-rate theatrical productions such as: 'Buddy' (The Buddy Holly show) and 'Shout!' (The Johnny O'Keefe show). Here we move away from the tired, cheap tribute bands, and into a whole new ballpark altogether. These shows are literally 'shows', where the audience enjoys a totally professional production including storyline, drama, theatre, lavish costuming and of course music. It is on this platform that you will find 'The Australian Beatles Show' starring The Fab Four.
The overwhelming success of this group overseas is attributed to the professionalism and calibre of this act - nothing cheap, only the authentic instruments and costumes are used, only the best of everything.
The show is the complete Beatles story, beginning at the Cavern Club, then to the grey suit era of the Ed Sullivan show performance, the collarless suits are next, followed by the 'Magical Mystery Tour' period, 'Sgt Pepper's' and finally the 'Let It Be' hippy era. In all there are six costume changes throughout the performance, covering the entire span of the Beatle's amazing career, taking the audience on a trip back in time to relive once again or experience for the first time the fashions and the musical styles of the ever changing 60's.
The cast of the 'Australian Beatles Show - The Fab Four' are as follows - Andrew Sellars: (who plays the role of John Lennon), Peter Martin: (Paul McCartney), Daniel Matejcic: (George Harrison) and Monty Ruggiero: (Ringo Starr). All professional session musicians and actors, The Fab Four play the authentic instruments of the original Beatles, such as the 1965 Ludwig drum kit and guitars from Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Hofner and Gretsch.
The relevant cast members play instruments not usually covered by most Beatles acts also. Songs such as 'Let It Be', 'Hey Jude' and 'The Long and Winding Road' are played on piano by Peter (Paul McCartney), and even the traditional Indian instrument 'the Sitar' is played by Daniel (George Harrison), adding that authentic element to songs such as 'Norwegian Wood' and 'Tomorrow Never Knows'.
The result of years of character study on The Beatles and their amazing careers; The Fab Four - The Australian Beatles Show gives audiences the opportunity to relive the excitement of a Beatles concert and much, much more!
The Fab Four is the ultimate Beatles experience. If you are a fan of Theatre, Rock and Roll, and music in general, you really can't miss it - a must to see!
